Mutia is an external counsel of MAGNUS. She has extensive experience in the financial sector especially in financial technology, M&As, venture capital investments, financing (including conventional and sharia financing), data privacy, intellectual property, blockchain and crypto industry.
Mutia obtained her Bachelor of Law Degree (“S.H.”) from the University of Indonesia, and her Master of Law degree (“LL.M.”) from the University of California Berkeley, where she graduated with Honor and High Honors, specializing in Law and Technology.
She started her career in Bank of Indonesia for 2 (two) years, and decided to pursue a lawyer career in a law firm as well as in-house counsel thereafter. She has handled various local & international M&A projects, involved in venture capital investments (in the form of equity, warrants, and loans), and has handled various Employee Share Option Plan (“ESOP”) arrangements.
In her practice, she has experience in assisting Peer-to-Peer Lending Companies (“LPPBTI”), as well as Digital Financial Innovation (“IKD”) which are supervised by the Indonesian Financial Authority (“OJK”). She also led and closed a USD30 million offshore sharia-based financing from the United Kingdom. She has recently extended her practice to handling blockchain and crypto industry in Indonesia, the Gulf Cooperation Council (“GCC”) area, Labuan – Malaysia, and several other jurisdictions as a legal counsel.
